Dear Members of the Legislative Assembly,

On behalf of the undersigned BC health, environmental, and animal welfare organizations, I am writing to bring to your attention our joint position statement calling for a comprehensive province-wide ban on cosmetic pesticides (attached). We urge you to move forward with legislation prohibiting the use and sale of lawn and garden pesticides during this legislative session. New legislation in BC should be at least as protective as measures already in place in leading jurisdictions. In this regard, the Ontario cosmetic pesticide ban is the current gold standard.
